Recovering Music From Your iPod
When storing mp3 files, people usually store them on their computer and on their iPod. But what if your hard drive in your computer stops working due to mechanical failure. This is possible and could cost you.
The iPod was intentionally not made an easy access storage device for marketing reasons. It is one thing to loose your computer's data but it is another to loose your iPod's. It is a good idea to have
data backed up in at least two places.
Lets say your computer data is no longer accessible which could be for a variety of reasons. That data is now only available on your iPod. And it is not very easy to get a new computer or computer hard drive to back up the iPod data to the new computer, making sure that there will always be two places that the data resides.
This was once the case but with iDump, for lack of a better name, you can easily access your mp3 files from the iPod and transfer them onto your computer. Now your iPod has no need to have a constant body guard anymore. Your mp3 files are now located in multiple places.
With iPods now available that store 160gb, a fairly big hard drive would be needed considering that your hard drive also stores an operating system. If you have a 160gb iPod that is nearly full, which I could hardly imagine, get a hard drive at least the size of 250gb or 500gb. This will allow you to store all of your mp3 files onto your computer with no picking and choosing which songs or albums get saved.
IDump is a computer program and can be downloaded at www.softpedia.com or www.download.com.
